Manhattan Dramatic Sky

Manhattan skyline view from Queens, dramatic sky, rays of light, majestic clouds parting making the shape of a heart opening.
After riding my bike all day through Manhattan and Queens chasing what I like to call my favorite "puffy clouds", I stopped for a long needed rest Here at Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City Queens. The temperatures this day had hit the upper 90's and the humidity was hovering around that number as well, but these are the conditions that make for the best cloudscapes so I was prepared. Several liters of coconut water and not nearly enough sunscreen all paid off as the evening sky erupted into a celestial light show.
While shooting this vista I was so focused on the massive opening of light above the main skyline, I didn't even notice that just to the left over the harbor sky was an even more impressive "Heart" opening up.
